My Writing

I have always been a writer, yet it was only in 2007 that I began to write with publication in mind, following a Creative Writing course with the Open University.

Poetry:

I started looking at this strange way of writing in April 2007 - it seemed such a complex way of saying things. Therefore I am amazed, and flattered, to have my first poem, Boatry, published in The New Writer magazine in Nov 2007 and in Jan 2009 they published Blackpool Rocks.

Short Stories: 

Although I have written articles, regularly for two In-house magazines, I had never written fiction. I was completely taken by surprise when my very first short story, Coat Tales, was accepted by the Welsh Arts magazine Quattrocento, and will appear in April 2008. Having viewed my drawings on this site, they have invited me to supply some artwork to accompany the story

Novels:

I have recently started a novel, A Garland of Islands, set in the South Indian Ocean.

The thriller The Othila Paradigm, is also well under way.

Biography:

I have started a, self-illustrated, joint biography of Vincenzo Lunardi and James Tytler - the eighteenth-century balloonists.
